Line busy! How many calls does your practice miss?

One morning as the medical assistant at a family practice: the lab, reception and two phones. On day two, Mia, an AI phone assistant, takes the routine calls.

How to play

  1. The blood test in the lab only moves forward while you are there. Patients who wait too long leave.
  2. Tap a ringing phone to answer. After a few seconds the caller hangs up.
  3. A morning lasts 40 seconds. On Tuesday, Mia helps you.

Background

What the game shows

You cannot be in the lab and on the phone at the same time. Many practice teams know this from everyday work.

Missed calls are missed appointments

Callers who reach nobody call back later or try another practice. In the game, callers hang up after a few seconds.

Every interruption costs time

A call pulls you away from your patients. The wait in the lab gets longer, and the work piles up.

Callbacks pile up

A promised callback is quick to note down. It often only gets done in the evening, once things are quieter.

In practice

What an AI phone assistant can do for your practice

In the game, Mia stands for an AI phone assistant like the ones we set up for practices. Together we decide which calls it takes.

Book appointments

Check free slots and book or move appointments during the call, connected to your calendar or practice software where an interface exists.

Answer common questions

Opening hours, flu shots, prescription orders or directions: the assistant answers based on the information you approve.

Hand over what is personal

Medical questions and urgent matters go to your team in an orderly way, as a complete callback request or by transferring the call.

The numbers in the game are examples: CHF 120 per consultation and CHF 60 per lab service. The practice, names and calls are made up.
